<p>January 19   History of Diving Museum presents: The Art of Freediving<br />
 American freediver Erin Magee will present The Art of Freediving as part the Museum&#8217;s Immerse Yourself! free program series. Magee is to present the basics of freediving and discuss how specific training and techniques can allow any novice freediver to accomplish much more than they ever imagined, and how you can get involved in freediving. Magee, a relative newcomer in the sport, broke Tanya Steeter&#8217;s longstanding US National Record in Constant Ballast with a freedive to 233 feet at the &#8220;Deja Blue&#8221; competition. Female anglers earn points for catching bonefish, permit, tarpon, snook and redfish using bait, artificial lures or fly tackle. Points also are awarded for ladyfish, sharks, jacks and spotted sea trout (also known as speckled trout). Entry fee only $125 per angler.<br />

An overall grand champ prize is given to the individual or team who catches at least four of the seven eligible species. The angling challenge is also a qualifying event for the 2011 IGFA Inshore World Championship in Islamorada.<br />
